“Loved the inside decor. The beautiful wall coverings are nearly 90 percent original. The owners David and Michelle told us they are only the second family to own the property in over 100 years. They truly pampered us with a wonderful breakfast and gave us the full tour when we arrived. We loved it. ”

“If you love anything Victorian this is the place for you! The woodwork was exquisite! We had a lovely stay. Barbara was a wonderful hostess and made us a delicious breakfast! Fresh fruit with whipped cream. Lemon poppy seed muffins, raspberry kuken, ham and cheese omelets, OJ, coffee and tea! We enjoyed chatting with her and finding out about the history of the house!”

“My daughter and I had a lovely overnight stay at the Weis Mansion. Our hosts were friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. They were able to accommodate my daughter ‘s food allergy for our breakfast, which was delicious. The bed was very comfortable and there was a refrigerator and microwave just outside our bedroom. There were tea and snacks for us to have anytime. We were in and out in one night on a car trip so we did not get a chance to explore Waterloo. The mansion itself……

“We had a wonderful time at the Nauvoo Grand B & B. Laurie, the host was an amazing cook and host. Warm reception every time she saw us. We had a mix up in reservations at another hotel and ended up here, we are so happy we did and would do it again in a heartbeat.”

“The house is beautiful and well maintained. It is a fun opportunity to imagine life in one of these beautiful old homes from the 19th century. A wonderful breakfast was served Saturday and Sunday. Simon was great. Friendly and full of tips and ideas to help make the most of our time in Dubuque. “Lily Pad #1 was impressive. The revitalization of the space was very tastefully done. It created a spark to do the same for several of the other structures in the area that just need a lift up. Some more than others, but they are ALL worth saving! The area could have so much potential! I just wish I were younger to take on some of the projects myself! I digress...Lily Pad 1 was very comfortable and the communication with the owner was great. The only thing that may be a deterrent for some is……

“Inez was A-Mazing!!! She was so sweet and kind and made us feel at home immediately. On our last day our departure time was moved up unexpectedly and her and David still made us breakfast even tho it was an hour earlier than originally planned. The food was delicious!wa son loved egg”

“We enjoyed our stay, but I do wish the place was a little cleaner. The shared bathroom (upon our arrival) had small hairs all over the sink and vanity like someone had emptied their electric shaver over it. Also, the doors to the rooms, including the shared bathroom, have no locks on them. The breakfast was very filling, and Mary (the hostess) was nice to talk to.”

“Amazing antiques & flowers all around mansion & carriage house. They are still working on completing the renovations which was good for us because we got to go thru all the rooms & see all the furnishings. When we arrived Expedia hadn't notified staff (Dave & Pete) that we were coming but we had made reservations within an hour-ish before. So, our room hadn't been cleaned. We went to dinner & came back to a clean room. We really didn't like the shower, the curtain sticks to your body no matter……
