“This place is a gem! Just a convenient eight miles from the town of Cape Charles, this 3 room inn sits on its own private beach in its own little oasis of peace and beauty. The room was comfortable and well appointed, and the host is very friendly, helpful and welcoming. I really felt like a guest in someone’s home. I highly recommend the Baywood - the in town properties look very nice but everything is so easily accessible that it’s more than worth it to stay in this off the beaten path spot……

“the hotel room wasn't great, but the location is, your right on the main strip, everything is within walking distance, you also get complementary coffee and pastries from the shop next door. The best pastries on the island hands down!! The staff was wonderful. Really more like family, everyone was just so nice. I will bring my family back to the Maddox. we enjoyed it evry much. “We were greeted immediately upon entering the hotel. The first thing I noticed was the walkway entrance was spotless. We noticed it was hosed down and scrubbed each morning. What a difference it makes. At any time of day, the receptionist at the front counter greeted us. All too often in the past, the hotel employees AT OTHER HOTELS acted as if it’s a bother to hand you another towel, to answer a question, or to even say hello. The hotel was clean. The continental breakfast offered was filled……
