“We had an excellent stay at the Waiakea Villas. The room was comfortable and the amenities were excellent. Check-in was by lockbox, but it was easy to use. There is a State Park just around the corner which was a nice place to walk in the mornings. The room does not have central A/C (like many places in Hawaii) but it did have a portable unit. We did not find instructions for how to use the portable unit in the room's guest guide, but eventually figured out that there is an outflow pipe for hot……

It was perfect for me in all ways - fantastic location, nice complex, very clean, lovely lanai, close to a beautiful park for walks/jogs. Various places to eat or get groceries that are within a 10 min walk or a couple of mins drive. Maggie was an exceptional host, very quick to respond and very kind to me on my arrival after a 25h trip. “We really enjoyed our stay. It is very clean and accommodating. Great location for going all places on the north end of the island and into Kona. Good walking in the neighborhood. Cooler at night and comfortable. It is peaceful, only had some road noise during the day. The hosts were very nice, good communication. They have a dog but we hardly heard it.
