“Excellent and cosy place to stay and to eat. Just a short journey from Oxford, and in the middle of lovely countryside. The Bell has a lovely country atmosphere with a stylish bar and restaurant. Service and food is excellent. Bedrooms are comfortable and have everything you could need at a reasonable price. Special mention for Toby, who works at the speed of light to ensure your evening meal is wonderful. A definate must visit for anyone in the Oxford area.”

“Had a great stay at The Bear Hotel. Love its charm and the feel of a true English hotel. It’s been here 500+ years. We stayed in a front room that looked over the Wantage Market Square. The room was fine, very clean, and the bed was comfy. However if you are tall, like over 5’ 9” you must watch your head and you probably won’t fit in the shower. Staff were all excellent! Love the breakfast that came with the room, delicious!”

“Overall, a charming property with real character. The room was beautifully decorated, well appointed, and the bed was especially comfortable—perfect for unwinding. The bathroom was clean and modern, with good-quality fixtures, though some of the furniture and smaller fittings (like the towel rail and toilet roll holder) could use a bit of tightening or TLC. “Was here for a 2-night stay for work. Free parking on drive of property, take care coming out, as restricted view of road. Greeted by Sigrid who was pleasant and provided good local information. “This is the hotel right in the center of the town. It is so convenient to everything you needs among the shopping streets, dining, parks, running trails, and buses to Oxford and surrounding areas. We enjoyed staying at this affordable price for our vacation. The only thing we have is not enough air circulation inside room, nor the corridor. So, room temperature is much warmer than outside even open the window. ”
