“We stayed at the Vista for 2 night and loved it. It was quaint, clean, and the hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. It had a little patio out back with views of the beach. Some of the other rooms had balconies. The had free, very basic, breakfast outside under a tent every morning. Coffee, juice, fruit, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, croissants,. It was great for us but not if you want a hearty breakfast. Downtown was about a 30-40 minute walk but they also had a taxi for $10 you could……

“This property was beautiful. It was quiet and clean. I do believe it is more a bed and breakfast than a legitimate hotel. The staff, specifically Deb and Julie were fabulous. They were friendly, helpful, and very welcoming. They truly did everything they could to make our stay great. The few complaints I did have were due to my own misunderstanding of the property description and issues outside of the staff's control, like the couch in our room being ridiculously uncomfortable. “We had a micro king room. This room had plenty of amenities for a small room. The hotel is situated in the heart of Salem. There are great views of the city at the hotels roof bar. Lots of cool places to check out around the Hotel. ”

“I had a great stay at the Merchant. While walking through the beautiful hotel and the George Washington room where I slept, I couldn’t help but wonder if the place is haunted. It’s old and modern. Staff were friendly. Parking lot is right around the corner. I had the best shower there in my life. The water felt so good. Thinking of returning sometime in the future. ”
