“Amazing place to stay and food was lovely too”

“This is overall a very nice hotel, and the room was very comfortable. My gripe is with the wi-fi. It’s hopeless. Disconnects and reconnects constantly, and is incredibly slow. I don’t actually understand how they can make it this bad. You’d have to start with a dial-up modem, but at least that might have a stable connection. ”

“Lovely spot to stay, well-equipped and cosy even in the freezing early January weather, and bonus we saw the northern lights. Ideal for the NC500 just a mile or two off the road.”

“This property was chartered in 1899, and offers an authentic experience. But that is not necessarily a bad thing! Yes, the room was tiny... basically a twin bed and a sink and not much more. But the shared bathroom was fine. Very clean and up to others I have had the enjoyment of sharing. Breakfast (to order) was quite good, but the real draw here is the attached pub, which offered many a fine night of drinking a pint with locals and listening to their stories, and the excellent food. Do not……

“The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Their attention to detail was highly appreciated. There was a nice fire in the fireplace. The room and bathroom were clean. And dinner, the Balmoral Chicken, was delicious. The best I’ve had in Scotland. Veggies cooked to perfection as well. Highly recommended.”

“Our bedrooms were excellent.. recently modernised… the main hotel was ok service hit and miss but perhaps a skeleton crew as just after NewYear… had to request for the fires to be lit and the lighting was not good resulting in no ambiance…however the food was excellent..”
