“Beautiful views from our room and a very comfortable room. The main building is very old and charming but some interior decoration could do with updating. A really lovely stay and would stay again no problem. ”

“Good, solid place. It really is a monastery with large grounds and impressive buildings. Welcome was very friendly and helpful. The property is dated, but in fairly good order. Bed was good. Breakfast was cereal and toast type. I was hoping for full breakfast but was not offered. Mirfield also a nice town/village, just avoid school closing time as very busy”

“As always the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly (Shirley was lovely: smiley, chatty, courteous and efficient) Food, as ever, was very good and as real ale drinkers, we appreciated the good beer on offer. Breakfast was excellent, but the coffee was very weak and not to our taste For the first time, we stayed overnight. Although the room was fine, it felt a little underwhelming after the surroundings in the restaurant. Mould in the bathroom was unsightly.”

“This hotel is very underrated, don't listen to any bad reviews, it was very clean and comfortable, staff were very pleasant, theres someone on reception 24/7 so felt safe there as a lone female traveller. No breakfast but macdonalds nearby or plenty of places to eat. Great location, 5 mins from train station, or 2 mins from bus station.”

“Really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, the Club room was very comfortable and stylish. I liked the pool and health club area, the facilities were excellent. All the staff I came across were friendly and kinds. Breakfast in the morning was lovely, a good selection of hot and cold options. Only thing that I would suggest is to have a regular cup in the room for those wanting a cup of tea. The coffee cups to go with the coffee pod machine are really small for a regular drink. I am sure someone……

“Very beautiful grounds, easy and lots of parking. Public areas very nice, rooms tired!! Definitely need refurbishing. Food nice and lots of choice of drink. Breakfast nice enough. The staff are incredibly lovely, helpful and always smiling, they are a massive asset to this hotel!! ”
