“The service was excellent, the food good, good breakfast. Parking free and WIFI good, nice sized TVs in the room, nice sized rooms. You CAN sit in the Martini bar area with your dog to eat your meals. The decor is a bit tired looking, 1990s dated and our dog friendly bedroom as not cleaned to the best standard there was a stain on the carpet that would have been easily enough for someone to get rid off which the correct products. Perhaps puppy pads available to buy at reception would help the……

“John and Pablo were so hospitable, it made our overnight stay in their beautiful property memorable. Both our bedroom and ensuite were lovely, spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. Location wise, it was perfect for easy walking into Newark and we had a good evening meal at Oscar's Inn just a 3 minute walk from the property. We had a superb breakfast which was cooked to order and were offered as many refills of our teapot as we wanted. We highly recommend a stay at The Lions. Thank……

“this hotel is a little surprise. Doesn’t look much from the outside and not helped by being next to a disused building. However, once you enter it is a very different experience. The hotel is lovely, well maintained and the staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. We had a family room which was very good, though could do with some better quality bed linen. “31 Castle Gate gave us a very clean and comfortable 2 night stay . Private and quiet accommodation clear instruction re parking facilities. Easy access to shops, cafe and relaxing meal/ drink in the evening sat by the canal. Initial access wasn't granted by the code given but a very quickly answered call gave us access for the stay. Thank you to Daniel - very helpful and he also checked in with us to make sure access was ok . Would use the accommodation again . ”
