“Wonderful experience. The rooms are all along a steep hill and have great views. We were given Room 28 Premium King bed which is close to the top of the hill and the views were stunning. The hotel has a number of golf carts and someone can take you up there if you need help. The grounds are beautiful and there are trails behind the property which lead to the Aguti reserve to which the hotel provides free admission. The staff and service was excellent as was the hotel restaurant, El Sapo. ……

We did the takeaway breakfast one morning, which wasn’t great, but they had it ready for us a half hour earlier than they usually open, so…. All in all an amazing stay. We will definitely be back!”

“Staying at the Monteverde Lodge was one of the highlights of our CR trip. The setting with the jungle/window outside the property was tranquil. The food is amazing! Everything was presented beautifully. They set us up on several awesome tours with Rafael and we saw lots of wildlife we would never see on our own. The gardens and trails are gorgeous. We even saw a pack of capuchin monkeys climbing over the roof when we left. The staff did everything possible to ensure an excellent stay.”

“Lovely staff and really well kept, if admittedly spartan, facilities. The breakfasts are great and the location is within easy walking distance of one of the town's best sodas. The staff are excellent at managing expeditions and tours as well. Finally, while the bed was small and the hot water did flicker, the room held a real charm to it nestled among the trees. A good place to stay.”
