“This is an older hotel and, as it makes clear, there are quite a few stairs to the second floor, though there is a lift to the first floor. A bit tricky for the guest with a mobility issue, I should think. It’s also dog-friendly, and how I feel about dogs is influenced by the guest-awareness and general responsibility of their owners. Not everyone appreciates a yappy dog on a terrace. BUT, The Marine is a great place to stay. Seafront, sea views, well-decorated, clean rooms, very comfortable……

“ FERRY BOAT INN NORTH FAMBRIDGE ESSEX IT WAS THE UNIQUENESS OF THE PROPERTY HOW OLD IT WAS, THE FOUNDATIONS OR PART OF THE BUILD OF THE PROPERTY WAS FROM THE TUDOR PERIOD OR THERE ABOUTS. THE SHOWER DRAINER WAS TANGLED UP WITH GUNGE WITH HOLIDAYMAKERS BODY HAIR AND GUESTS BODY PARTICLES WHICH WAS VERY UNPLEASANT. APART FROM THAT THE TWIN ROOM WAS OKAY BUT WE WERE SWITCHING THE HEATING ON AND OFF AND WE COULD HERE THE BOILER IN THE EARLY HOURS. THE BOILER STOPPED EVENTUALLY LATE IN THE……

“Lovely venue and gardens. Breakfast was a bit of a shame. They had run out of most items in the buffet and we had to wait for a table. They should also have proper hot water for drinks and not flasks. Overall it was a very pleasant stay with lovely rooms.”

“It was a very nice place to stay at a reasonable cost. Ideal location near to Cooling Castle were able to walk back after the wedding well with a torch. Staff were all friendly. Would recommend.”

“I've stayed here on a number of occasions over the last decade and a bit. I've always found it to be friendly, with good beer and good food. My only reservations are that in colder months, the chalets can be a bit on the cool side despite having heaters. However, on this occasion, I was in one of the newer rooms and the bathroom was nice and warm in the morning and best of all contained a walk-in shower stall, far better than clambering over a bath tub! The pub itself has remained a decent……
