“The room I had was roomy and clean, bathroom/shower again clean and spacious. Equipment and white goods suited my needs. Entrance to the room a little dark as outside lights didn't react early enough. Overall I would book again if in that area.”

“Was a big scare when we reached the apartment and found out this was no one there for check in & no instruction sent before our arrival. In this remote location, the mobile connection is bad and I luckily able connected to WiFi in an indian Resturant. Found an old email thread, replied to it and luckily i received a Uk phone number to call for self check in instruction. Felt quite worried at the beginning with my wife and boys and about where we sleep . Not a good experience ”

“The Normanton Park hotel was excellent. The experience with Expedia and our original hotel booking was terrible. We booked several weeks in advance and had a confirmed booking by Expedia at the other hotel, the booking was cancelled at short notice by a phone call from the hotel. It took me 3 hours on the phone to get Expedia to find us another hotel in the area. The original hotel was no help at all, Expedia suggested we call the hotel direct and rebook at a higher cost. “Lovely pub/hotel with lots of old world charm. Clean and comfortable in a great location. Stayed for Sunday lunch which was excellent. Bedroom was spacious and had everything you could need. My only very slight negative was the traffic noise, as our room was at the front. ”

“It was all wonderful right from the check-in, the staff are all very friendly, welcoming and helpful. We stayed in a well lit and very tastefully decorated and sizeable room, with comfortable beds, two small armchairs and a coffee table. The bathroom was well appointed with a bath and a large shower head. There were some nice extra touches as well, a small bottle of milk on arrival and later in the stay, plus bottled water, plenty of teabags etc. The food at breakfast was very nice too. The……

“This is a perfect hotel. Everything is perfect. Loved the decor, staff, food melts in your mouth. And the housekeepers are amazing, in particular as most of the walks you will take in the area leave you covered in mud. I cannot recommend this place enough. Everything is impeccable.”

“Hotels.com didn’t make me aware that the hotel was closed, the owners of the hotel were not expecting guests, as they were refurbishing the hotel, fortunately the hotel owners were great and arranged a room for me to stay. The hotel is in a good location to explore Rutland Water, I would be happy to stay again but wouldn’t book through Hotels.com”
