“Likes Clean rooms comfortable bed,friendly staff,nice affordable food.Dislike tired ground floor decor carpets,outside,tired furniture,untidy garden,Room wise,no shower bath only which was awkward to get in &out,traffic noise from nearby road even withwindows closed”

“Great location in the centre of Winchester, right next to the cathedral. Lovely, large bedroom. Lively pub, excellent breakfast. (Parking permits are available but we found it difficult to find a space and ended up in the public Tower car park.)”

“ I normally refrain from negative comments but ... Parking is a nightmare experience - front car park was with difficult to find and then full ... After spending almost another hour parking at backdoor car park with proper payment of parking fees, you then receive a 100 pound parking ticket erroneously in the middle of night one week later !! ”

“Great setting but really gets very busy around weddings, had 10 minute wait for food at breakfast buffet. My room had a smell of smoke coming through the bathroom extractor which was not pleasant. Gym changing rooms seem better days… ”

“We stayed here in the Tudor 4 poster room. While some of the reviews mentioned noise in some of the suites, we only heard guests downstairs when we were in the bathroom and then only in the afternoon. It was quiet in the evening / night. It was a great place to stay after a 5,000 mile trip from the Western US and recover from jet lag before going on to meet friends and family elsewhere in the UK. (It’s about a hour from Heathrow). The ford was good, the beer excellent and the staff friendly and……
