Broken bathroom fixtures, dirty floors, dirty towels, blocked showers/sinks/toilets, slow service, unfriendly staff ( apart from Vic, Charlie and Amelia who, to be fair, were genuine and tried their best). To call this hotel 5-star is frankly fraud. It’s a shabby hotel, rooms and service 2 stars at best. Do not stay here with your family.”

“Very spacious room. Convenient location, just opposite to train station and close to the main shopping street. One drawback is lack of loading zone to unload luggage.”

“Beautiful hotel We stayed in ‘biggy, riverside view room. Lovely room with fabulous bathroom. Really nice toiletries. Ate dinner in restaurant, lots of choice and good value. Very friendly staff All in all an excellent stay. We would stay again”

“Probably the best value hotel room I’ve stayed in. Yes, the hotel is old, dated and in urgent need of some repair. BUT for £60 for a large room, castle view and walkable distance to all of the tourist attractions, it’s a good deal. Not sure what the deal was with the little homemade sandwiches in the foyer though….? Btw, I’m actually a local resident and was staying here for one night while I was exchanging/completing on my property. Served its purpose well. ”
