“Just a brief overnight on a business trip. Lovely character building. Decent size free car park. Single room was pleasant and comfortable. Location is in the town, so inevitably some traffic noise specially early morning. Take earplugs if that tends to disturb you. Very friendly staff and good breakfast available from 7am, which was handy as I was travelling further on for a meeting. Highly competitive b&b rate.”

“When we arrived at the lodge we were supposed to be staying in there was another family there who said the lodge they were supposed to be staying in was occupied so they were given this lodge. We rang the contact number and he apologised, we were provided the key code for another lodge and when i opened the door that was occupied as there was a dog in there. We finally got put in a lodge and went to look at the hot tub to find it was empty and covered in spiders. The lodge is advertised with……

Room is clean and bed is just the right firmness that you can wake up rejuvenated without backache. “We stayed 2 nights in a 2nd floor room over looking the courtyard. The staff were all very welcoming & friendly. The breakfast had a good variety, nice and hot & cooked well which is not always the case for buffet style breakfasts. The location is good for the Peak District. Plenty of parking & although due to weather we were not able to enjoy it, the outside area was very pretty. The bathroom could benefit from a little work. Overall Good Location, welcome staff, excellent breakfast.”
