“It was very convenient for Haydock Park races, parking available and a 10 to 15 minute leisurely walk. Staff were friendly and welcoming and managed to have a room ready beforecwe set off for the races.”

“Good location for Chester & surrounding area. Hotel is tired looking in places, and service was sloppy at times. Spacious room,.dimmer was ok, and breakfast was plentiful with a £5 supplement on all cooked food with the exception of the English Breakfast. At £99 b&b it was good calue for money.”

“Loved it. The staff were very accommodating during check out. Visited for a family birthday but stayed the following day for some light bites. Fold was delicious for both occassions, setting was great and staff were attentive. Highly recommend.”

The food was excellent, great service at the bar too. In the lounge var area, ample cosy seating, beautiful views all around the hotel grounds. Nice music in the back ground. “Not a bad hotel. I stayed whilst visiting a festival so prices were elevated, but that was true everywhere. The room was fairly dated and could use a refurb and the bathroom tile grouting wasn't in great condition. The bed was comfortable enough and it was quiet. The hotel is functional and does the job, but has potential to be nicer with a bit of investment.”

“We stayed in a room that is more spacious than average ones. Clean and tidy. Staff are very polite and hospitable. Buffet style English breakfast is served, and quite tasty. The kitchen even takes simple orders to suit your needs. Guests can also use the pool and gym for free, which is rare for many hotels. Lots of parking spaces. The only concern is that the room has no air conditioning. During a summer day it could be rather hot and stuffy.”
