“Arrived just before check room was ready Staff did have to juggle between bar/ reception and serving meals so a little slow at times. Hubby was a bit disappointed with his lamb as had watched other people in the day getting bigger portions but tasted lovely.Anna was so helpful and Millie only saw her 1 evening but really helpful. Our dog was even given a sausage for breakfast lovely touch. The ladies cleaning the rooms were lovely. ”

“What a hidden gem The Annex, Rose Cottage is. Perfectly situated if you want a holiday away from the hustle and bustle of life! Nancy & Paddy are very welcoming hosts on hand to offer local knowledge on the best pubs to visit, walks to take or supply any small thing you may have forgotten. The cottage is beautifully presented , warm and clean with a very comfortable sofa and bed. The room was clean and tidy , the en-suite was spacious and the views from our windows over the river were great . We had bedroom 3 and the river runs directly outside and the sounds and views of the river are very relaxing . We would highly recommend to anyone wanting a lovely quiet peaceful break with lovely walks right on your doorstep.. we will be back for sure ”

“My wife and i had a 5 night break here in the dog friendly room 2. The weather was excellent which did mean we could get the most out of the area. The room was perfectly clean and modern and enough space even with a dog crate. The room is not serviced but you can ask for items (milk etc) when needed. Staff were all very nice and helpful. We ate in for 3 nights and all the meals were perfect. We had the full English (and meat free option) every day. It was so good and plentiful that we barely……

“Amazing old building nestled in some peaceful woodland. Great breakfast, excellent produce, poached egg was perfect, lovely fresh bread. The room was extremely spacious and well decorated. Comfortable bed and good shower. Great to have free parking in Ilfracombe too. We ate breakfast each morning while watching a multitude of birds through the breakfast room window. ”
