“The family rooms more like an apartment were excellent. Everything you needed in the room including dvds for the kids. The host was brilliant and locals in the bar were welcoming. The location and setting lovely. Would recommend to stopping here”

“Bright friendly welcome with tea and biscuits. The gardens are extensive and lots to interest. The house feels like a medieval manor although is C19 Tudor revival. The bedroom had everything needed and mercifully no television, was clean and welcoming. Al in all a lovely stay with a lovely host.”

“A great welcome, very friendly, lovely, comfy, spacious room. Mouth watering meals and great choice of drinks. Although we had a lovely Valentine meal, we were in the public bar, next to the bar which was a bit noisy, table in the restaurant would have been preferred for a bit more privacy. Still we had a wonderful stay.”

“A very popular pub with excellent accommodation The whole outdoors dining / seating area is beautifully kept with lots of plants / flowers making the area more attractive The breakfast menu is immense, The American breakfast beat me and that’s saying something, well cooked, plenty on the late and well presented 👏”

“Decent accommodation in a beautiful village on Exmoor. The bed was comfortable and the full English breakfast very good as well. I had no problem parking just outside on the street. I liked the feeling of staying in a family-run hotel and they were all friendly and helpful. Would return!”

“An excellent location for a walking weekend. Check in from 3.30 only but there’s lovely walks from the village to keep you busy. Check in was good with a friendly welcome. The room was comfortable and clean. You cloud hear the owl in the woods at night it was such a peaceful location. We had a wonderful evening meal, a little more than we might pay at home but it was beautifully cooked and value for money. Breakfast was equally delicious. I had the superfood breakfast. Sourdough toast.……

“The only thing we didn't like about this hotel was the limited parking at the hotel however saying that the nearby local station (tourist train) is free parking between 6pm and 9am so it wasn't a problem and we paid for an additional couple of hours the following morning at a cost of £2.50. Dog friendly though the room was a bit warm. Even with the windows open it was quite quiet outside. Also its at the end of the beach that is also dog friendly. Staff were friendly room pretty large. “Wonderful experience, a very warm welcome. The staff are very friendly, the room and en-suite was a very good size. The breakfast was fantastic, we ate both nights here and the food was excellent and very well priced. The price of drinks was the very reasonable. Will definitely return. ”
