“The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was in need of some refurbishment and the shower was poor. However, Howfield Manor is a beautiful building and even in December the grounds were lovely. I would like to stay there again. ”

“it is in the old town center and just next to the main attractive points like cathedral. as it is a building over 500 years old, so no lift but wooden stairs only (but this is the reason i stay here). Shared toilet and bathroom is good (and you can enjoy the cathedral view when you are "relaxing"). ”

“Just right for my needs. Good location for access to town plus free parking. Unfortunately I did have noisy people in adjoining rooms who played loud music and the room the other side had tv on loud but that’s the lack of concern for others that’s all too common now and not the fault of the guest house. Breakfast was good and staff polite and helpful.”

“We spend a good time in this hotel. Room is clean and tidy. Comfortable bed. Bath water smoothy. They also serve good breakfast。We arrived after ten at night and the front desk waited us patiently.Just 10 minutes walking to the old town.Free parking is a surplus.The restaurant in town they recommended is tasteful. Recommend to all. ”

“This is one of the better hotels that I have stayed at. Convenient for the Channel Tunnel as it's only a 10 minute drive, the hotel itself is in a decent condition despite its age. Rooms clean and beds comfortable. Decent amenities onsite as well including a coffee shop and restaurant. But where this hotel excels is in terms of its staff. From the friendly and helpful man on reception, continuing on to the happy to help staff in the restaurant to the fantastic customer service of the guy……

“Well presented and brilliant priced accommodation. Plenty of space and key box access was genius! Lots of drink making equipment in the room, lovely toiletries, and the included continental breakfast was perfect. Highly recommend.”
