“The staff at Hotel Capitán Suizo was beyond outstanding. The care they impart on their guests, the grounds and their hotel is excellent. The grounds are breathtaking and as a small boutique hotel, it is a quiet refuge located at the very end of the busy Tamarindo strip. I highly recommend this property to anyone who wants privacy yet access to everything and anything that touristy Tamarindo has to offer. We'll be back. ”

“Very cute property. The three of us liked our two bedrooms (queen, king, and bunk beds) with small kitchenette. The property has a security gate so we felt quite secure (most all the properties seem to have this - it seems to be a Costa Rica thing). The units are spread among several small buildings that ascend a hillside so there is an inclined path (and a few stairs) leading to most of them. Its very beautiful with much shade due to the many mature trees and bushes. Lots of flowers. The……

“The area is fantastic, so is the staff and the amenities. However, the bed wasn't very comfortable and the marble floors make every noise very loud in the room. We had trouble sleeping because of all the noises. Breakfast was good and there was a nice view and pool. ”

“Great spot for a family vacation in Tamarindo. Good location, close to town, about 15 minute walk, but secluded from night life and noise. Staff were super friendly. We love playing beach volleyball in the evenings with the entertainment crew. ”

“I had Mountain Bike race in the area and the hotel was near the race exit. Service is too good that they provided breakfast the night before as breakfast starts at 7:30am and the race started at 5:30am. There are hammocks to relax after race.”

“The Mar Rey was convenient to everything. We’ve staying in Tamarindo many times and wanted to be on the beach this time. We did however end up leaving two days early. A few things … we were in the end room facing the parking lot and street. Which was quite noisy at night. We came back to our room one evening and there was a woman sitting on our patio who walked off the street to wait for her taxi. It was sorta unsettling having someone sitting at our door when we arrived back. She was nice and……

“Really pretty common area. Wonderful staff. Wildlife right in the hotel common area was a treat. Rooms could certainly use some upgrading. Didn't feel the interior of our room looked like any of the different rooms shown on the advertisement. Overall convenient location and felt safe. ”
