“Car park a treck if you have items to carry. Digital key code would not work setting alarm off. Told to wait 45 mins for someone to come and re set until she remembered emergency key in cupboard in hallway. Flat lovely inside however bathroom lock was broken and no cold water coming through the shower scalding us. Reported but nonresponse. Fans on and off from building next door. When going out in the morning seeing the entrance in daylight was horrible. Bins and just not a safe looking place.……

“This country house hotel has been beautifully restored and the feature room that my wife and I stayed in was lovely, with an extremely comfortable and large bed. Perhaps the standout feature of this hotel is not the great building and decor but the brilliant Lavender restaurant. A small menu contained some amazingly tasty dishes and we enjoyed a fabulous dinner with views over the lawns. All in all a lovely night away. Thank you”

“The room was well presented, spacious and clean. There was a stain on the carpet but its nothing serious. The room was above the pub entrance and it slammed shut everytime it opened. ”

“Laura and Graham were absolutely wonderful and most helpful. The cooked breakfast was one of the best we’ve ever had; everything was so fresh and of top quality. The property itself is absolutely stunning; we were easily able to walk in to the main city centre along the scenic river route. The welcome guide in the room gave some fantastic recommendations of what to do in the area and we only wish we’d stayed for more than one night, so we could check them all out. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay……

“Beautiful spot to stay. Downstairs and upstairs were great and comfortable. Church bells ringing next door were peaceful and soothing. ”

“Very nice place to stay. It was very nice to sit in the beer garden and have some pub grub. Food service started at 5:30 pm. Breakfast was really good. We stayed in the Willow room that can sleep up to four people. Only downside was the creaky floor from the guest above our floor. Would stay there again.”

“Inexpensive no frills Oxford accommodation. Manager very responsive and accommodating. Good location with frequent buses to centre of Oxford (though easy for most to walk) and direct buses to train station. Clean rooms, kettle with tea and coffee. Good shower. No regrets. Would stay there again. ”
