“Great location. Went up to visit family. While speaking with host, he called to check in with us to see how things were going, I mentioned we were building a large fence enclosure. Host offered to lend us an Auger to drill the post holes. It saved us about 300 in rental fees. Very nice of them. ”

“We enjoyed the house and really appreciated the responsiveness of the host. While the location is between a small road and train tracks, it wasn’t overly distracting or loud. The access to the water was unobstructed and relaxing. The master bed was probably the most comfortable that I’ve ever slept in away from home, with quality bedding and mattress. The property was also great for our dog, with a contained back yard and front porch. Definitely recommend! ”

“A single family house with nice sized fenced-in yard. Furnishings were simple but more than adequate. Location is the big appeal to this property, right in town with the major bike rental outfitters for Creeper Trail literally across the street.As of April 2025, the community is still rebuilding from Helene damage, but still has plenty on offer in Damascus, nearby Abingdon with the Barter Theater, historic downtown and nice restaurants. Appreciated the book about Mount Rogers Natl Historic Area……

“A perfect spot on a quiet part of Claytor Lake; the house easily accommodated three adults, mixing a charming location with modern-day comforts like a hot tub and Wi-Fi.”

“good as always, the town had some storm damage due to Hurricane Helene and 1/2 the biking trail was closed, some of the restaurants and the deck on the river had been destroyed. They were building it back when we were there, but it was blocked off for workers. Normally a great fishing area but we didn't catch anything. The owner said since the hurricane that it had not been good for fishing. None of it was the fault of the owners. ”

“Love the cottage and within walking distances of everything I wanted to do. The cottage was very clean and one of the best get aways I have had in a very long time. ”

“It is a nice place to stay for convenience. Easy to get to and within driving distance of many places in Bristol. The area it is in may be a little run down but I felt safe. ”

“We loved our long weekend and this beautiful, clean, organized cottage. We appreciated the extra touches like the labels on light switches and cabinets, the soft towels and bathroom rugs, throw blankets near the couches, and even USB charging ports on master bedroom nightstands. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals. The kids loved the hot tub, playing air hockey, and the board games. We enjoyed the fire pit and big back porch (and the swing and hammock). I……

“If you really want to live life Slow and quiet for a bit. This is it. Pastures of beautiful coes grazing. Police were visible it was safe busy road. I would not recommend children. But the community was lovely a church across the way. Not for All but if you like to experience something different this is it. Mooooo”

“Stayed here on our way to Myrtle Beach. Ample beds, Fully stocked kitchen & linens, super close off highway. Small quiet town, great to relax. Gas station/store right down the street. Convenient & Clean. I would stay again. ”
