“It’s hard to comment properly as we arrived late in the dark but even still the staff on the desk were so friendly greeting us, and super helpful and understanding when I realised I’d made a mistake with the booking. It’s lovely and quiet despite being so close to the motorway. Immediately put at ease and reassured that it’s a great place to stay, even if as it is for us just an overnight stopover mid journey. ”

“Check in was very easy, staff were very friendly and helpful, room was lovely , larger than expected with 4 poster bed. Great hotel in great location. Bar area was very nice with painted mural walls. Only minor negative comment would be that the paint work i.e. doors and skirting was looking very tired, could do with a refresh.”

“Greeted with a warm and kind welcome. Very easy to find and plenty of parking on site. It was a perfect choice for the 1 night stay we had in breaking a long drive from the north of Scotland to south yorkshire. Food and drink in the inn was very nice and the service by the staff likewise. Breakfast was included in the cost of the stay and we knew it was going to be as good as its past reviews. All in all a great stay.”

“This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. The room was wonderful - comfortable and clean, with nice extra touches. The bed was so comfortable it was difficult to get up in the morning! “The property was seeped in history. We stayed in room 3, the Kings room. A lovely compact room, spotless with lovely little touches such as a great selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate, a fresh little bottle of milk, a comfy bed, feather duvet, black out curtains, great shower and toiletries.
