“Was good value for money. Conveniently situated for visiting Renishaw Hall wine tasting and gardens . Comfy bed, and not a bad size bathroom. Rain shower but no hairdryer. The food in the restaurant was really good, not that quick to appear but it was worth the wait. We didn’t like being so close to the road though.We couldn’t get the window to close properly so that it made it noisier once the traffic started in the morning.”

“A classic hotel with comfortable, spacious rooms. Friendly and competent receptionists. Nice breakfast. Continent breakfast self-served buffet or hot, customised English breakfast That take quite a while. If come by train, need to get a taxi ride of 8-10 minutes. We arrived late in the evening. Have to queue for half an hour at the taxi stop.”

“Not exactly a charming village inn but it was warm, clean, efficient, and offered very good service. Seemed great for dogs and families alike while my partner and I had a great stay. ”

“The property is ideally situated for the city centre. Very clean and tidy, easy checking in process on the morning of check in you are sent a message with the codes to get into the property and for the key safe of your room. Would stay here again. ”

“We had a wonderful stay at The Barrel inn. They were accommodating to our potential late arrival, the room was spotless, cosy and fresh. The amazing view at sunset was stunning and although we were too late to eat dinner there, the breakfast was delicious. We had a brilliant night sleep and great hot showers the following morning. This was a recommendation from a friend and so worth it, we’ll definitely be back. ”

“We had to have our kettle changed because the kettle was unsafe and not carrying a safety compliance certificate,the replacement kettle had a safety certificate on it but did not turn off when up to temperature.”

“Noisily ”

“We had a fabulous 1 night stay, room was beautiful, patio area was great too. Only negative feedback was no milk and only a coffee machine which was awful for tea drinkers as the water tastes like coffee still. Saying this however we would come back and just bring a kettle! :0)”

“Room 2 had a pump noise on and off all night so we didn’t sleep well. Food- Burger great, Jerk Chicken dried out and overcooked. Beers good.”
