“We loved the features throughout the building. The beams, low ceilings, uneven floors...really kept the character of the building. Rooms were nice albeit a bit strange having the shower in the room and not in the ensuite but good use if available space given grade 2 listed building regulations.”

“The staircase to our room is winding, and I need to go up and down before arriving at my room. The wall is thin and is not very sound proof, so I can hear what next door's saying and TV noise. It could be disturbing to someone during time for bed. There could be some seepage at the bath tub as there was a pool of water on the toilet floor after my shower, even though there was a glass door to stop water from splashing over to the floor. “Almost all good. The room itself was spacious and well equipped. Fresh milk in the fridge, quality teas and coffees, biscuits, great shower, lighting, fan, tv, radio, quality bed and bedding, sofa and toiletries. I'm sure there are more positives... My minor negative observations - check in wasn't quick or smooth (although the young man who welcomed me was excellent). The cups don't fit for the coffee machine. “We’ve booked one night here at first, then we decided to go there one day before and booked one more day. We told the reception lady when we arrived check in, she said it’s ok, no need to do the check in again and we could stay in the same room. The next day at ten mins before ten, a housekeeper locked on our door and told us to check out. We’re surprised and told her our case, she told us to check with the reception. Then the reception said we’ve to check out and come back by 4 to check in……

“This is a beautiful old house that has been made into a hotel. It looks and feels like it has a lot of history. It is a lovely tranquil place. Clean rooms. Comfortable bed. Wifi in the room and common areas. They do nice homemade pizza's, with a good selection of toppings. There is a small bar. The breakfast is self serve, nice food. The staff are friendly, polite, and helpful. I would stay here again when in the area. ”

“There are not enough superlatives to describe this hotel and its incredible grounds! The food was Excellent - better than the Michelin * restuarants I have been to recently in London and Venice. The grounds are spectacular - all 66 acres of them and its worth visiting just for this alone. The bedrooms are very nice and confortable. We had an Orangery suite which has Aircon. The Main house rooms do not. The staff were superb! Expecially compared to some other much more expensive hotels……
