“We stayed for 2 nights and had the best time - The room was lovely and spacious with everything we could need in there - the lovely shower was fantastic too (not one of those that hardly wets you that you find in some places!)
We ate from the lunchtime menu not long after we arrived and had a salad later in the evening - bot delicious and really fresh. Breakfast the next morning was beautiful - eggs benedict and waffles with bacon - both dishes really fresh and tasty. The staff gave us a local……
“Great little pub with large outside seating area. Pizza night Fridays & very nice too. Room very comfy a little warm being at the top of the building but had a good air con fan.
Probably not a common problem in this part of the world!!!”
“Great short stay. Our room oozed character and history, enhanced by top quality fittings. Bed was enormous and super comfy. Breakfast was absolutely spot on. Complimentary bottles(!) of gin and whisky and the posh shower toiletries topped it all off.”
“This is a little gem to find - excellent accomadation and staff along with Quiet surroundings Food id second to none with a wide range for starters and main meal.Rooms are tastefully done with all the usual requirements and fresh milk is from a vacuum flask so its all fresh.
Toilets are spotlessly clean and well laid out along with general condition is very good.Thank you and well done to all.”
“I took my 13yr old granddaughter away for 2nights ,the hotel was amazing very modern just what a teenager wonts ,we had a brilliant time the pool , jacuzzi& stream room where brilliant lovely and clean and very friendly couldn’t do enough for you. What’s her name?we give a big shout out to Zara who was on reception what a lovely kind & friendly lady she even gave us a free drink to take away with us overall it was outstanding ”
“The staff are fantastic and so friendly, making the stay really comfortable. However, the outdoor pool was quite dirty, including the loungers and the pool surfaces with bird poo and staining on the tiles. Also our room did not have air conditioning and it was extremely hot and uncomfortable to sleep the first night. After this we had fans on which the hotel supplied. We had a lovely stay despite the small issues. ”
“Lovely location overlooking the river.
However if you book a river view room ask for the second floor because there is very little privacy on the first floor. Passengers in double decker buses waiting for the traffic lights to change can look straight into the first floor windows.
There is a very quiet lift to the river view rooms.
There is no parking at the hotel but the station car park is quite close by and only £6 per 24 hours when we stayed which is quite reasonable. ”
“We had a great stay here, enjoyed breakfast and evening meal, catered for a gluten free diet. Hotel room was spacious, very clean and a comfortable bed. Hotel staff friendly and proffesional. Would definetly reccomend. ”
“We had a lovely stay. Relaxed and fun. Staff super friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. Only dropped a star as we had a main course and shared a pudding which took over 2hrs all in all. We laughed about it, I can only assume there was a drama in the kitchen and that's 2hy we waited so long. Still, doesn’t put us off, we'd stay again ”
“A great hotel to stay in Hampshire. Lovely place with great gardens and outdoor areas. You can go for a walk and see the amazing gardens or play tennis or just relax by the outdoor pool if the weather permits.
There is a small but very clean gym as well as an I door pool and you can enjoy the spa.
Thou can have dinner at the restaurant or at bar lounge which has a great atmosphere.
The breakfast is great with fresh food to choose from as well as plenty of options for continental.
The staff are……
“Comfortable stay is a period property in beautiful grounds. Only 2 downsides to spoil the perfection - fire alarm fault at 2300 on 1st night and a tiny kipper fillet at breakfast in the morning otherwise faultless.”
“There is parking behind the waitrose and staff walked us there after their shift had ended to ensure we understood the parking App since tomorrow is the Farmers Market on High Street and we would have to move the vehicle early. Now it’s all sorted and paid in advance. Of course it’s an older hotel and everything is crooked and settled, but you should come here for that eclectic experience, as we did. I just miss the old mural that was painted in the pub before, replaced by a more modern map. ”
“A terrible experience. Broken bathroom fixtures, dirty floors, dirty towels, blocked showers/sinks/toilets, slow service, unfriendly staff ( apart from Vic, Charlie and Amelia who, to be fair, were genuine and tried their best). To call this hotel 5-star is frankly fraud. It’s a shabby hotel, rooms and service 2 stars at best. Do not stay here with your family.”
