“Everything we hoped it would be and more. Friendly, very helpful staff and fantastic food and service which started before we arrived. The views across the Exe are stunning and the extensive grounds beautifully kept. We plan to come back next summer so we can use the beautiful pool and croquet lawn. Loved the chilled out vibe in the Poolside restaurant. ”

“Lovely hotel and lovely, welcoming staff, great value for money with an indoor and outdoor pool and jacuzzi. A little dated but this added to the charm. Only negative was that the beds were too hard. Amazing location and gorgeous views. Would definitely go back. ”

“We had a very pleasant overnight stay in a very nice room. Our only issue was the bathroom door was very badly warped and could only be closed if slammed. It then took a great deal of force to open it. If we had been staying for more than 1 night we would have asked to change rooms but decided to put up with it as we wouldn't be spending much time in the room. We only had dealings with the reception staff but all were very helpful and friendly. ”

“I didn’t have a friendly welcome at the reception but most of the staff were friendly and helpful. The doors to the bedrooms are very clunky and I could hear doors closing with a loud thud. I could also hear dogs barking - which I didn’t appreciate. I had a “Superior” Double room with Sea View, so I was surprised to find the room had a ripped curtain. The room was comfortable and generally clean, but I did spot some grime on the bath by the shower screen. The room had a balcony but to be frank……
