“This is my second stay at this establishment- first time was a double room shared with a friend on a visit to Charleston This time around with hubby and booked a queen accesible room not realizing what I was booking… the room is handicapped accesible and was comfortable and clean but the closet door wouldn’t close and that would trigger the auto on/ off sensor inside closet whenever there was any hint of movement in the room also this room doesn’t have a window facing outside - just a small……

“We had a fine stay at the Francis Marion, but I am not sure we will be back. Trying to valet park at check-in time was impossible. No spots available. We ended up self-parking, which wasn't the end of the world. Our room was not ready at 4:30, so they offered us free drinks at the Swamp Fox. We got a text it was ready at 5, but it actually was not. Apparently, there was a housekeeping issue. They then discounted the room $100. We went out to dinner and it was ready when we returned around 8.……

“Heater needed a new filter, it spewed out black dust onto clothing that was placed on a chair near the heater. Shower had only 1 shower door, water easily left the floor outside of shower very wet. Lots of dust kitties on floor in room. Not enough dining seating areas for continental breakfast”

“Very nicely remodeled historic home. Host was very responsive. We really appreciated all the extras they did to enhance our stay. Take a nice walk to all the shopping and restaurants or a short Uber ride. ”

“Everything was 5 stars. Rooftop bar was lovely. This hotel was on the harbor and we did need to drive downtown but it was a 5 minute drive so no big deal. The hotel was undergoing dining room renovation but the kitchen was still open and provided room service and also to the rooftop bar. Can’t say enough good things about this hotel! ”

“Everything was wonderful, we really enjoyed our stay. Only complaint was that someone brought their dog and it trailed poop two separate times. Because of that the hallway smelled awful. ”

“Excellent staff, services, and a very cool looking place. Rooftop bar was great, and location of hotel was perfect. Rooms need some TLC though, as the building is old and converted. Overall, a great stay and would definitely consider staying again if in Charleston. ”
