“This was a business trip and I only chose this place due to the fact it was really close to where I was going the following morning... what a great surprise. Comfortable accommodation, sensible cost and a fantastic breakfast in the morning. This is not like your typical chain-hotels. Much more personal and friendly for sure and run by a family, so if you're staying in these parts of the country you should definitely support-local and get yourself in here. ”

“Room was excellent in all respects. Reception was friendly. We could only reach the breakfast room by walking across the car-park, which was not pleasant in the February weather, but the wide selection and generous portions of cooked food available for breakfast add to the overall good value for money offered by this hotel. Having smaller appetites, we would have liked to see some bread or toast alongside the jam and butter on the buffet table or at least to see them mentioned on the menu,……

“It is a really good property, just note it is down a long narrow road which was fine this morning on the daylight but a little harder to navigate when arriving in the dark. Lovely 4 poster bed, all amenities in the kitchen etc. Comfortable stay thank you. Would recommend ”

“Amazing! We were initially put in Room 3 which we found a little disappointing for what we had paid. We asked for Room 5 (our very favourite room) and we were delighted to change rooms (although slightly confused why we hadn’t been offered that one first?). Room 5 was stunning and impeccably clean and inviting, although very ( a little too) warm on arrival Our bar meal was excellent, the bar manager was wonderful and kept the real fire stoked all evening which enhanced the cosy pub……

“Lovely stay. The staff was great! Everyone went out of their way to be kind and helpful, even helping when our plans to tour local sites got messed up by a very heavy winter storm that caused power outages. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was a bit pricey, but excellent quality and our servers could not have been better. Breakfast every morning was delicious and, again, our server was lovely. Would recommend this hotel if touring Derbyshire area. ”

“One of the nicest friendliest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Owen the manager was extremely personable and was always very polite, friendly and helpful. The food dinner and breakfast was 1st class, the bar area was welcoming and clean and decor of a high standard. The bedroom was clean, classy, warm and inviting. The bed, duvet, pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was opulent and perfect. One of the nicest places I’ve ever stayed in. I will be back”

“A late Valentines night away. We stayed in the superior room which had everything you could ask for. The Bath tub is a must and the spa facilities were perfect to unwind after a freezing cold day! We dinned in the Bowling Green for tea and breakfast. Location is ideal right next door The steaks were lush, and the potato hash for breakfast you need to try! Staff and service was amazing. Will definitely come back again. ”
