“The hotel is in a very picturesque setting in rural Chenies. We had a spacious, spotless room and a large ensuite bathroom with shower. Everything was in good condition and the sheets and towels were of excellent quality. Having a fridge was also very useful. The evening meal was tasty, though the choices were limited, as there had been problems with deliveries. The full English breakfast the next morning was plentiful and delicious. “The decision to stop in St.Albans was initially because it was a convenient stopover place for London, due to the easy commute into the city. However, as soon as we arrived and saw the cathedral ACROSS the road we knew that one of our days would be better spent experiencing this beautiful and historically rich place. We even arrived on a festival day! Lots of walking meant that sleeping in a comfortable bed was a priority and the hotel scored highly on this! Breakfast was varied and set us up……
