“The property is OK but some of the room amenities need some tuning or fixing for example, our bathroom sink faucet was loose and wobbling, the soap dispenser in the shower was empty and things in general looked like a refresh was needed. “This review is not for Hotel Retama, but for Golden Sunrise. We booked Retama, but apparently the two have a mutual agreement whereby if one is overbooked you are put in the other. Normally that would concern me, but Golden Sunrise was excellent. Off the noisy main area a few blocks, in a charming building with well-appointed rooms, a good breakfast, and wonderful staff. So again, I have no idea what Hote Retama is like, but their sister hotel Golden Sunrise is highly recommended.”

"Amazing shower. Best shower in my peru trip. Hot water is so enough. Hotel provides breakfast from 5:00am. It is perfect for the one need to catch the early bus to machu picchu. It has lift. However, the hotel is located next to the heavy river. It may be a bit noisy."
