“Walking distance from train station. Front staff was able to accommodate a different room as there was construction. Breakfast was excellent with lots of options. Only stayed the one night but would recommend.”

“This review is not for Hotel Retama, but for Golden Sunrise. We booked Retama, but apparently the two have a mutual agreement whereby if one is overbooked you are put in the other. Normally that would concern me, but Golden Sunrise was excellent. Off the noisy main area a few blocks, in a charming building with well-appointed rooms, a good breakfast, and wonderful staff. So again, I have no idea what Hote Retama is like, but their sister hotel Golden Sunrise is highly recommended.”

“A very good location for a reasonable price in the Machu Picchu town, not far from either the bus stop to the machu picchu or the town train station. The room is tiny but good and comfortable.”

“Great hotel with excellent staff, a convenient location, and very clean, neat rooms.”

“We could not find the property. We got a local person affiliated with the company that we did the Inca Trail with to attempt to take us to the Hostel. The problem was that the address listed in Expedia led to an abandoned building that was being worked on. They may have had a temporary location set up, but we got locals to phone the numbers listed and there was no answer. So, we stayed at another place instead.”

“Are room was pleasant. Hot water was abondant except the van didn’t work so well so the humid walls and floors stayed like that for a long time. Our room was at the top of the stairs and we could hear everything that was happening on the main floor like they were at our door. Would hav worn ear plugs except I didn’t want to miss my 4am alarm”

“From poor amenities to terrible bedding, this was a bad stay. Despite advertisements, there is no Laundry Facility, no 24hr desk service, no concierge, intermittent wifi, no coffee shop, and no sound proof rooms. Breakfast was terrible - old and dried out pan de aqua with bad jam and instant coffee. Bedding was horrible. My daughter who had been sleeping on the floor at our relatives house the previous two nights, insisted that the mattress was actually harder than the tile floor and that it was……
