“Last minute booking, so not much time researching. Room was small but clean, tea and coffee making facilities. Shower was good and. Could not hear the live band that was playing, but had some noise off the street. Would have scored more but the staff were a bit rude when I asked for extra pots of milk. Good location, only on street parking. ”

“Had a lovely stay. Yes, some of the decor looks tired but it is a very old hotel with lots of character. I booked 3 rooms and we had the smallest bed, but it was very comfortable. We had a drink in the "Whine bar" which is small and busy in the evening and also breakfast, which was one of the nicest, self serve, breakfasts I've ever had. All the staff were attentive and friendly but the lady on reception and the lady on at breakfast, were especially lovely. Just one thing to remember, if you……

“All was great, but I must say that the breakfast was not made that good. But it was a nice stay, and I would probably go here again. The dinner was OK, I had fish and chips. The fish was a bit overcooked, and the chips were good on the outside but dry on the inside. With slightly better food, this would be 5 stars for the price”

“We stayed 2 nights in a 2nd floor room over looking the courtyard. The staff were all very welcoming & friendly. The breakfast had a good variety, nice and hot & cooked well which is not always the case for buffet style breakfasts. The location is good for the Peak District. Plenty of parking & although due to weather we were not able to enjoy it, the outside area was very pretty. The bathroom could benefit from a little work. Overall Good Location, welcome staff, excellent breakfast.”
