“Our room was clean and comfortable. It was a good size and set up for a family as we needed. We were disappointed that the spa was closed, an odd decision to close the spa at the weekend when travellers are most likely to want to use it. Breakfast was a little underwhelming but plenty to choose from. The cereal packets were quite a long way out of date. The traffic was quite loud from our room at the front of the hotel. A room at the back would be much better to be able to sleep through. Just……

“The hotel is set in a rural area, with views of greenery. Public transport and local amenities close by. Beautiful inside and out, had a lovely room and bathroom so clean and comfortable. Just the mattress was not so good as felt the springs. Overall I was pleased with my stay. ”

“Privately-owned, and service reflects this. Staff are extremely friendly and efficient throughout. The restaurant is first class, with an exciting menu, and the food was very good indeed. The hotel feels modern with an elegant design, yet obviously has history. The "new" extensions complement the old. My only concern (and mild disappointment) was the shower which takes a long time to get going and was just a little cramped. Otherwise, the room was fantastic and most importantly, the bed……
