“Great place, nice food, nice staff”

“I don't know what to say other than I have sent my review to YHA with "top marks" for everything. From the friendly welcome received on check-in to the cleanliness of the room allocated, everything was absolutely perfect for the overnight stay. I slept very well & enjoyed the morning coffee in the café downstairs. It was all spot-on and excellent value for money. I will recommend to friends and I would like to book to stay there again. ”

The brass-rail bed was super comfortable and my breakfast was cooked excellently by Peter, the other half of this welcoming (and hardworking) couple. “This is basically a 'pub with rooms'. But the rooms are exceptionally nice. Lovely big bed without the join down the middle (you know what I mean - two singles bolted together...), comfy chairs and a lovely soft carpet (I said it was the little things). But while I'm on the subject, proper mugs, proper glasses (not plastic cups), and decent biscuits (not the standard ones that all hotels seem to have). Food in the restaurant? Pub grub - but very well cooked. Good wine list too. All in all,……

“My daughter and I stayed for 1 night as we were attending performances at the nearby theatre. The hotel was lovely and we were lucky enough to have what a couple of the staff described as the 'best room'. The room was clean and spacious, the bed was a little soft for my liking, although still comfortable. All staff we encountered were wonderful, so friendly and helpful. The small amount of food we had was a hit, especially with my daughter! We would definitely stay here again. ”
