“I visited Carolina Beach to help me heal from the sudden death of my 36-year-old beloved daughter 6 months ago. I had always stayed with her and her sister at the Golden Sands, but I thought that would just be too painful. I had a wonderful stay at the Hampton Inn for 4 nights in an oceanfront room. I read, sketched, looked at the ocean, and remembered all the good times with my child. All of the staff were great. In particular, I met the restaurant cook in front of the garden out by the pool. “It was perfect. Only downfall were the millions of gnats mid Sept which is apparently mating season. We couldn’t even open our balcony door at all. So having an oceanfront without a balcony was sad. For my husbands birthday too. Wont come mid Sept again but would love to come back and use the balcony and not be swarming with bugs!!! Everyone was nice”
