“Nice hotel with good facilities and clean, comfortable rooms. Excellent the food in the restaurant comes from the estate farm but it is expensive for what it is. The staff are friendly and young, and it shows in their training in that they say the right things but then don't always know what to do or seem overwhelmed by the number of people, or the busyness of the restaurant. They need some better training and some visible experienced managers. ”

“A Great pub. Caution if you wish to use the dine on a Wednesday and get your 20% off as you apparently need to pay on the night it can not be added to your room.. Costly error!”

“Ideally situated for an overnight stay if walking the South Downs Way. Excellent Sunday lunch - we could understand why it was popular! The Landlord was very helpful in providing the best route to re join the South Downs Way the following morning. Unfortunately the nearby cafes were not open for breakfast on Monday - The Green Welly doesn't open and The Nutmeg doesn't open on Bank holidays! We resorted to buying two baguettes from The White Lion and having them for breakfast and lunch!”

“The room itself was lovely, but there is no sound proofing as such it was noisy with music from the bar coming through the floor till about 11.30pm. The breakfast was excellent. ”
