I've never spent a night in a straw-bale constructed home before, but after this experience I think I'd like to do it more often. The home is charming, quiet, and peaceful, and maintains a very even temperature inside. Spent a few days here with my wife for a quick getaway, and we found the location halfway between Watkins Glen and Ithaca to be about perfect. So many things to do, if you want to……

“Nice cabin made out of rough cut lumber makes a nice family retreat. Love the building and location that appears to have been built by the owner. Plenty of room for 8 of us with beds with linens and room to spread out. It's on a small cliff side on the lake with a beautiful deck, stairs down to the water, and a dock on the water. I can't believe some old reviews criticize the amount of stairs? It's on a cliff side, what do they want ladders? Crazy. The stairs are very sturdy with a nice hand……
