“We based ourselves here for a long weekend to visit some places in the New Forest, we found it a pleasant and comfortable hotel, ideally placed for our requirements with lovely views and nice staff. We stay in plenty of hotels throughout the country and this is probably the best we have found in quite some time.”

Only small gripe was that the room was extremely hot and the wedding guests from the wedding that was also going on were very loud below the room so we could not open the window. “Chewton Glen is a glorious hotel with fabulous, well cared for grounds. (Although the patios and tables in the Croquet rooms, could do with attention)The staff are exceptional, with every individual staff member reacting promptly, to our requests. We dined at the Kitchen on the first evening, which was superb. Unfortunately, on both mornings of our stay, our cooked breakfasts were rather disappointing. “We really enjoyed our stay at the Legacy Rose and Crown. The hotel staff at the front desk were really pleasant and helpful. Dinner was delicious with a lovely view of the river at sunset. Breakfast was quite good, with both hot and cold options, however the coffee could have been hotter. The location is a short, pretty walk from Salisbury Cathedral. ”

“The evening meal was was expensive but good. The wine prices were prohibitive. We only wanted glasses from the per glass list but bought a bottle which was good but the per glass price was obviously designed to make us do that. We dined elsewhere on the remaining two nights of our stay. Breakfast was excellent.”
