“The room itself was wonderful and exactly as described, what you cannot see from the pictures is the many high buildings that are around it and can see into the top floor of the room if the curtains are not drawn which somewhat dampens the majesty and feeling of being in wilderness that you feel when looking at the mountains from your bed. There are a lot of homes near and around the property and the occupants were quite loud throughout the night. Aguas Calientes in general is not a particularly……

The staff were kind, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our stay special. Our room was cozy and clean, and the restaurant food was outstanding. Perfect location—close to town and the train, yet quiet and serene. Highly recommend!”

“Our stay at the Tara hotel Machu Picchu was excellent. They had someone meet us at the train station to help with bags and to show us the location of the hotel. They allowed us for early check in and were accommodating our entire stay. Breakfast in the morning was nice, and they had eggs made to order. The location along the river was great and it was close to the hot springs in Aquas Calientes. We would definitely stay here again. ”

“The family who runs the hotel were very accommodating and went above and beyond to help us with laundry, early breakfast and just general questions. There was hot water which was a plus :). They also have a rooftop that overlooks the plaza, would recommend to anyone. ”

“This hotel is a hidden gem within the beautiful Pueblo of Machu Picchu. I had the most unforgettable stay. They breakfast buffet starts at 5am for all the early hikers which is amazing. All staff speak fantastic English, the customer service was exquisite! I recommend scheduling a message , we did this after our hike it was amazing. The hotel also hold your luggage after check out in the event you want to explore the village or hike that day. Highly recommend getting the room with river view!”
