“Ideally placed for the New Forest, Southampton and Bournemouth, we stayed 1 night while visiting the New Forest. We were made to feel welcome, which instantly made us relaxed. The room was clean, well decorated, the bed was comfortable. The bed linen and towels felt luxurious. The weekend breakfast was excellent, we started with fresh fruit and yoghurt (cereals were also on offer) then had a full English which was cooked to perfection using good quality ingredients. ”

“The Room was good and included a Nespresso Coffee machine and good quality teabags. I especially liked the large Bath sheets. Above all the staff were all very helpful and welcoming. The side of the property which is on a main road looked a little uninviting.Unfortunately the traffic causes dirt to splash up onto the windows.Overall I would recommend the Cromwell Arms.”

“This was a wonderful family run gastro pub with a varied menu of top quality dishes presented as worthy of a top class hotel with the added bonus of 4 well kept real ales. Even breakfast offered a choice of gourmet dishes in addition to individually boxed Kellogg’s cereals. Out twin room was modern, newly refurbished to the highest standard & included thoughtful extras, including a much needed cooling fan in the atypical 25 degree heat. Spacious free car park. “Another excellent stay at The Duke on the Test in Romsey. The staff, the service, the rooms, the cleanliness all excellent. The staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you. It won't be long before we are booking in again! Highly recommended.”

“Close to Cathedral. Quaint interesting pub with outdoor seating. Friendly staff. Good food. Lovely room with fridge, Dyson fan, iron and ironing board. Nice bathroom. Great shower and lovely tub, and lots of products. Special thanks to staff for being so helpful. Listed building so no lift. ”

“We had a very comfortable nights stay here. Easy, precise instructions for gaining access to the property, and a very comfortable room. Host was very easy to speak to and the breakfast tray was amazing! Good pub just up the road too! ”

“Dated but very comfortable. Only minor complaint/observation was that there were no USB connections in the room and reception had no adaptors. In this day and age the double outlet in the room could be upgraded to include USB at minima;l cost,”
