“Have just enjoyed a 3 night stay with a friend. Beautiful hotel in unique location in quiet South Sands beachy cove. Lots of ways to get to Salcombe town centre either walking (a bit hilly), hotel shuttle car or water ferry. Rooms have stunning decor and bathrooms are very well appointed. Service throughout the hotel is excellent and very friendly. Enjoyed both breakfast and dinner in the hotel restaurant. Good value & again great service throughout but with particular mention of lovely service……

“Had an amazing stay. The setting is incredible and they make the most of it. Each and every member of staff was very warm, friendly, super helpful and professional- they made it a great experience. Very dog friendly too which actually had such a nice atmosphere to it- without feeling at all like a doggie daycare. Highly recommended!”

“The Inn was comfortable and there's a car park nearby. There's a pub at the ground floor and another one opposite the inn. A supermarket is about 100-200 feet away so it's quite convenient. You can reach southern Devon's costal attraction within an hour's (by car). A natural reserve is also very close.”

“The Anchor Inn is a little scruffy from the outside but don't let that put you off as the welcome inside is warm and genuine. The barman was charming and the locals and fellow residents all engaged in conversation. It's the type of establishment where everyone talks to each other and the dogs are fed treats. “Beautiful setting, fab Breakfast and very friendly staff. Few areas of the accommodation not cleaned, very dusty mirror going up the stairs, in the bedroom sticky substance on the dresser in front of coffe maker. Window sills dusty/dirty when wiped with tissue. Minor issues but for the price charged expected perfection. Would I stay again yes, but food in restaurant pricey for what it is so probably would not eat in again.”

“We were unable to contact to let them know our time of arrival as nobody answered the phone. When we arrived nobody from the hotel was there so we called the number on the door which was answered. After a short while somebody turned up to let us in ,but there was some confusion over the booking as the diary was not available, however we were shown up to our room via an outside metal staircase. “Beautiful pub opposite a babbling brook. So pretty. Made welcome from the start. Lovely double room with all you need. Great breakfast that sets you up for the day and ate there each of our four evenings. Food very good. Would highly recommend so long as you are happy to drive down very narrow country lanes and reversing back every so often as they are one vehicle roads. Part of being in the country as is being woken by the bleating sheep, quaking ducks and flying geese. Loved it. ”

“We only stayed two nights, but everything was really good. Very friendly staff, room was clean and comfortable. Didn't get round to using the indoor pool, but, took a look and it was lovely. A central hotel to what we wanted to see, great coastal walks too. Wish we'd stayed longer.”
