“The property and host were great. The waterfront was pretty green, but the lake itself was nice. Big plus for big groups: never ran out of hot water when doing showers for 6 adults and 7 children! Grill could be upgraded, but otherwise basically everything but groceries was provided. Take advantage of the boat! ”

“My wife and I and our adult son stayed 10 nights in July/August for a nearby family gathering. The lodge was beautiful, spacious (bigger than we needed!), clean, comfortable, quiet and very well equipped -- we were easily able to prepare lasagne for 14 in the kitchen. The location is quiet with convenient access to nearby activities and amenities, but it all requires some driving. Unfortunately a combination of heat and Canadian wildfire smoke kept us from enjoying the extensive outside spaces……

“This cabin was exactly what I was looking for. Nice lake, no skiers, great deck, good beds, good pier, all the kitchen hardware you could need and just a cute, cozy atmosphere about the whole thing. If I had one negative thing to say it would be that the owner requires you take your garbage with you. I REALLY don’t like added requirements put on me after I get there. Put it in the listing. ”

“Family trip to the area. Great location with plenty of space for group of 10. Enjoyed the putting green, hot tub and fire pit. Would stay at this home again. ”

“Our stay was great! Couple things that need fixed would be toilet paper roll holder was falling out of wall. The dryer takes about 3 hrs to dry. Other than that its a beautiful place to stay! Will definitely be back!!!”

“What a great property! My wife and I had our two sets of parents with us for a long weekend in DC. We loved having Lakewood Lodge as our home base for adventures around the county, as well as our refuge when it was time to relax, nap, or cook dinners in. We loved unwinding in the evenings in front of the three-season porch's fireplace with glasses of wine. Beds were all comfy. Kitchen was well equipped. The only thing that could have been better is that a few of the light bulbs around the house……

“It was very private and quiet. It was close enough to town to bike back and forth. The cabin was clean and well stocked. The porch was lovely but did have a couple of gaps for mosquitos to get in. I brought some 3m Thermocell and that helped with mosquitos. The stairs are not for the faint at heart or if you get up a lot at night. I alway hate the extra cleaning fees as I don’t make a mess and to me, that is the cost of doing business. The local taxes are high too. ”

“This home is a great location for gatherings. It has 4 comfortable bedrooms and large open accommodating common spaces. Even though it rained almost our entire time the living spaces kept us having fun together at the large tables and great room style TV viewing room. We would have loved to have used the kayaks and canoe. Next time!”
