“The long drive and grounds are beautiful. The lift was broken and no attempt to ask anyone to help me with cases and bags . The shower was great but the angle of spray kept flooding the floor so we used 3 towels permanently to soak up the water so we could use the bathroom and the fan was very noisy ”

“Lovely room but pub was quite noisy until midnight. Cleaning was hit and miss - rug under bed was absolutely filthy - luckily there were slippers in the room! Breakfast was amazing though. The car park is very tight and through narrow roads with parked cars - I was fine but less confident drivers might struggle. ”

We stayed in an executive room this time - we liked the extra space and would book this again. Last time we were there we were helping some friends who had suffered a tragedy that day, and I managed to knock over a large G&T. Even without knowing what we were dealing with, the lady behind the bar calmly cleared up the mess and……

Broken bathroom fixtures, dirty floors, dirty towels, blocked showers/sinks/toilets, slow service, unfriendly staff ( apart from Vic, Charlie and Amelia who, to be fair, were genuine and tried their best). To call this hotel 5-star is frankly fraud. It’s a shabby hotel, rooms and service 2 stars at best. Do not stay here with your family.”
