“Das Hotel Monte Carlo hat eine tolle Lage in unmittelbarer Nähe zu Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Es geht zwar zu Fuß steil hinauf, ist aber gut machbar. Die Einrichtung ist in die Jahre gekommen und etwas "abgeranzt". Aus der Dusche kam nur wenig Wasser, Fliesen und Fugen sind marode - trotzdem würden wir es wieder buchen. Das Frühstück (in Buffet-Form) hatten wir je nach Bedarf morgens spontan eingenommen, ohne es vorab gebucht zu haben. Der Bereich um den Pool könnte mal wieder……

“The hotel is very clean and in a beautiful location, the room was a good size. The food was not really to our liking but there are plenty of other restaurants in Funchal. I would not recommend hiring a car if you are a nervous driver, the roads are very narrow and steep! I was disappointed by the service I received by the staff at Our Madeira who own the hotel, but the staff at the hotel itself I could not fault. Additional touches like more toiletries and comfortable pillows would make this a 5……
