“I wanted a low budget one night stay. Although property is old fashioned, my single room, with en suite was very clean and bed was comfortable The breakfast cerea,l yogurt etc was an unexpected bonus. Kettle, microwave and fridge in room. Member of staff on arrival friendly and helpful. I couldn’t get the tv to find any chanels, but not there long enough to enquire about it. Could do with a chair, but overall exactly what i wanted Thank you”

“We had a lovely stay at Shaftoes Guest House. The room was spotlessly clean, spacious and well appointed with many nice touches. Breakfast was delicious. Lois was an excellent source for local information and suggestions. Exceptional!”

“Location is amazing with the AD 122 bus stopping here or around the corner, depending on direction. Also around the corner is The Sill, with a Northumberland Park team of advisors who are excellent and can guide you in seeing Hadrian’s wall. The room was fine, though there is no rubber mat on their slippery shower floor. Having a brewery and pub right there is great and it’s a nice fun place. Breakfast is fabulous, though it is interesting that they preassign the tables. For some reason,……
