“This hotel is well located close to bus & rail stations and only a couple of hundred yards from the promenade and the pretty Victoria Park. As with the majority of property in the area this is an older style premises with the typical drawbacks like steep staircases. “We loved our stay at The Charthouse, and are so glad we got the chance to visit and explore Torquay. The location is within walking distance of the beach, the town itself, and a picturesque path suitable for dog walks (Note: If you own a dog that doesn't like other dogs, this path may not be suitable, as there are a lot of other dogs, some off lead). “What a lovely property with lovely hosts. Made us feel welcome and relaxed. Breakfast is just great! Full English, whatever you like, loads of options like cereals, crumpets, breakfast bars, fruit, yoghurts, waffles to name a few. Hosts attentive and eager to please while being friendly too. Room was very nice with big sliding window and smart TV with the usuals like Netflix and Prime (bring your own accounts!). Great location 5 minutes walk from Torre railway station and 15 minutes walk from seafront and town. Easy drive to local towns like Brixham, Dawlish, Teignmouth and about 45 mins to Plymouth. “Beautiful B&B on a hill, but walkable to the bay and wharf and many dining options. The Bay Area is a little tacky with pin ball, casinos bars etc, but we had a very nice dinner at a spot called “Local” and it was walking distance to our lodging.”
