“We loved staying at Canon de La Vieja Lodge for our first few nights in Costa Rica. It was a short distance from the airport and close to the National Park. Lots to explore in the area. The property had many activities to enjoy. Even though the property is popular with tour groups we never felt it was crowded and always found quiet areas to enjoy by ourselves. We greatly appreciated the hot water pools down by the river as well as the main pool with it's swim up bar. Highly recommend this Lodge.……

“Lovely place on older side of things, but very clean, staff very friendly, the pool is a bonus, breakfast served, enough to fill your first morning hunger. Safe, walking distance to the Town centre , park/ church area, beautiful site, lots of birds never heared or seen so many. Dinned at a Peruvian Restaurant in the vecinity yummy food. ”

“The property is majestic, the staff capable and always ready to assist. The staff that maintain the property are so kind and amazing at their jobs. They have passion for the property and are experts at what they do. This property is unique as you get to enjoy all the amenities while looking at monkeys, lizards, birds, panthers, etc. In their natural habitat. “What we like most about this property is it has many services and natural settings nearby , such as horse riding , spas, volcano mud bath, hotspring pools, hiking trails , waterfalls . But some foods are not as expected , such as chicken meat is tough and chips are a bit hard . Overall, it is a very good hotel to recommend ”

“Although the room was small and simple, it was clean, comfortable, and with good A/C. No hot water but who needs it in 33 degree heat. A bit noisy from the adjacent bar, but no problem with ear plugs. Good food in the attached restaurant. The staff were fabulous - friendly and super helpful and went out of their way. ”
