“This is an old building with 6 rooms and a pub/restaurant on the ground floor. The rooms are huge with updated bathrooms and antique furnishings. Loved the ambience. Although my husband uses a walker, he was able to manage the stairs to our room on the first floor. The staff were friendly and very accommodating and the food was delicious. Breakfast was included and we ate dinner there 2 nights out of 3. The Old Vine is right on the park of Winchester Cathedral and only a block from the High……

“It was a lovely stay, but I thought that it lacked the extra little touches and attention to detail that a five-star hotel would have over a three or four star hotel. The room was clean, and staff friendly.”

“2 night stay over Easter weekend in Presidential Suite. Room £200pn but reduced from £400pn?? Not sure anyone would pay that? Some nice touches and very nice room, includes spa access. Not much atmosphere in evening as seem to overprice themselves for evening meals. Wine prices are very high, ultimately given the prominence of wine and vineyard.. a complimentary bottle in the room would have been nice… rather than a half bottle priced at £46. Spa was amazing. Paid for treatments and have to say……

“Close to Cathedral. Quaint interesting pub with outdoor seating. Friendly staff. Good food. Lovely room with fridge, Dyson fan, iron and ironing board. Nice bathroom. Great shower and lovely tub, and lots of products. Special thanks to staff for being so helpful. Listed building so no lift. ”

“The hotel is clean, but the shower drainage is too slow. Having hesitation of flooding during shower.”

“The evening meal was was expensive but good. The wine prices were prohibitive. We only wanted glasses from the per glass list but bought a bottle which was good but the per glass price was obviously designed to make us do that. We dined elsewhere on the remaining two nights of our stay. Breakfast was excellent.”

“Great place to stay in Winchester. Well located and you can walk to most places of interest from the hotel. Nice patio for having drinks and food outside. Liked that it was dog friendly. ”
