“The hotel was good. I chose to pay at the hotel and they overcharged me. Expedia would not help with this of course, but otherwise the stay was good. It was a reasonable night for one night before I flew out of the country”
“Lovely place on older side of things, but very clean, staff very friendly, the pool is a bonus, breakfast served, enough to fill your first morning hunger. Safe, walking distance to the Town centre , park/ church area, beautiful site, lots of birds never heared or seen so many. Dinned at a Peruvian Restaurant in the vecinity yummy food. ”
“Although the room was small and simple, it was clean, comfortable, and with good A/C. No hot water but who needs it in 33 degree heat. A bit noisy from the adjacent bar, but no problem with ear plugs. Good food in the attached restaurant. The staff were fabulous - friendly and super helpful and went out of their way. ”

“We loved staying at Canon de La Vieja Lodge for our first few nights in Costa Rica. It was a short distance from the airport and close to the National Park. Lots to explore in the area. The property had many activities to enjoy. Even though the property is popular with tour groups we never felt it was crowded and always found quiet areas to enjoy by ourselves. We greatly appreciated the hot water pools down by the river as well as the main pool with it's swim up bar. Highly recommend this Lodge.……
“A beautiful spot in Rincon de la vieja. We only really did the hot springs and some waterfall walls, but had we been there longer I know we would have done everything else too. ”
“What we like most about this property is it has many services and natural settings nearby , such as horse riding , spas, volcano mud bath, hotspring pools, hiking trails , waterfalls .
But some foods are not as expected , such as chicken meat is tough and chips are a bit hard .
Overall, it is a very good hotel to recommend ”
“Clean, very modest hotel along a road that is quite busy (noisy) during traffic time. Staff very kind and accommodating. On site coffee shop (Ticoffee) offers an interesting menu.”
