“We stayed for 2 nights and had the best time - The room was lovely and spacious with everything we could need in there - the lovely shower was fantastic too (not one of those that hardly wets you that you find in some places!) We ate from the lunchtime menu not long after we arrived and had a salad later in the evening - bot delicious and really fresh. Breakfast the next morning was beautiful - eggs benedict and waffles with bacon - both dishes really fresh and tasty. The staff gave us a local……

“My wife & I decided we needed a "just the two of us" getaway, & this establishment flashed up as a great deal for our time-frame. it's easy to reach off the M4, which was great, & even on a Friday evening it wasn't a bark to get to even though we were expecting commuter traffic. We were quickly checked in & allocated our room (#8, ground floor rear of the court yard, nearest the car park!). We weren't at all disappointed with the quality, size & comfort of this recently decorated haven. Lovely……

Could do with some renovations which are likely to follow (broken uneven paving) otherwise nicely maintained. A relaxed stay. Perhaps breakfast quality could improve a shade and bath with shower over a bit basic for this pitch. But overall great. ”

“Great short stay. Our room oozed character and history, enhanced by top quality fittings. Bed was enormous and super comfy. Breakfast was absolutely spot on. Complimentary bottles(!) of gin and whisky and the posh shower toiletries topped it all off.”

“Clean and comfortable. The condition let it down a little, e.g. badly damaged headboard, it would be easy to replace. Also the rooms are in the car park and cars are right outside the downstairs rooms’ windows. With an eye mask I got a good nights sleep and the pub is lovely, people friendly and the breakfast is very good. ”

“This is one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at, and I've stayed at a lot of hotels! We had such a lovely room that had the stream running past the window. The beds were super comfy and the room had lots of plug sockets which seems rare in hotels! It was a Greene King but the food was better than any I've been too and reasonably priced. Service was quite slow considering how quiet it was but the staff were very friendly. The pictures online don't do this place justice, a real hidden gem! ”
