“Never been to Watford (from US) but took a chance. Turned out to be an amazing place. Cool old UK pub and above, modern chic rooms. Ann Maria was the bartender and hotel host and she was outstanding and a hoot. She treated us like family from the moment she met us. Sean the manager treated us the exact same way. Brought my daughter, son and son in law to the pub and they loved it as well. Walking distance to Watford Junction station and a great little coffee spot called Viento just around the……

“The hotel is in a very picturesque setting in rural Chenies. We had a spacious, spotless room and a large ensuite bathroom with shower. Everything was in good condition and the sheets and towels were of excellent quality. Having a fridge was also very useful. The evening meal was tasty, though the choices were limited, as there had been problems with deliveries. The full English breakfast the next morning was plentiful and delicious. “Really comfortable room in a quiet location. Bathroom quite small but plenty of hot water, fluffy towels & nice toiletries. Not sure the air con worked in room 1 but wasn’t needed anyway. Amazing English breakfast - should have asked for a child’s portion! Really friendly staff. Nice to have off-road parking too. Will definitely stay again & perhaps try a treatment too. ”
